The DOJ executed a nationwide raid targeting 35 vendors of illicit substances on the darknet. As part of the raid, the DOJ seized 2000 bitcoins and other digital assets valued at US$20 million, weapons, cash and, gold.

IIROC has formed a working group to explore regulatory action for digital assets

The Canadian self-regulatory organization has listed digital assets as one of the initiatives it will explore. The organization sees the potential for blockchain technology to change the capital markets ecosystem. The SRO will work closely with Canadian regulators and other stakeholders.

Florida has created a position for a digital asset czar

Floridas Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis, has created a position to monitor and evaluate the state of digital assets. The digital asset czar will be in charge of examining how current securities and insurance laws apply to digital assets and ICOs.

Huobi Pro has suspended trading in Japan due to its lack of registration

The digital asset exchange will shutter operations in Japan as it has not registered with the countrys financial regulator. Huobi Pro will suspend trading on July 2 and remove support for Japanese trading.
