The Cantech Investment Conference - Canada’s largest technology investment conference - is just around the corner. Hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the conference will be held on January 31st, 2018. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, this year the Cantech Investment Conference promises to bring 3,500 engaged investors together with over 100 prominent technology companies. The 2018 event features a wide lineup of speakers and invites both Canadians and international guests. Blockchain and digital currency enthusiasts, in particular, have a lot to look out for this year, as many prominent blockchain pioneers will be in attendance at this year’s event.
The year has just started, yet Ethereum is already proving that its capable of maintaining its momentum as both a digital currency and a platform for technological innovation. Last year, Ethereum officially started processing more transactions than every other digital currency combined. The currency broke new milestones when it processed over one million transactions in a single day. Ethereum also made headlines with its attempts to combat the scaling issues that plague most digital currencies. In its current state, currencies like Bitcoin are unable to adapt to their popularity without sacrificing affordable transaction costs and timely processing times. Ethereum’s minds, such as Vitalik Buterin, laid out their roadmap in 2017 in an attempt to highlight their plans to improve scaling. This year, the Canadian government officially started piloting Ethereum as a way of granting the public transparency in viewing grants issued by the National Research Council (NRC). As one of Ethereum’s co-founders, Anthony Diiorio should have a lot of exciting things to say about Ethereum’s progress in Canada and the world at large.

Recognizing blockchain’s potential, Victory Square Technologies is in a promising position to promote the technology and alert the public of its ability to lead the way for business innovation.
