In an announcement made today, Ripple stated that Snoop Dogg will perform at its upcoming XRP Community Night. The invite-only night will take place on May 15th, 2018, during Blockchain Week in New York City.
In the press release, Ripple stated that its XRP Community Night is designed to promote XRP as its own movement. The company continues to differentiate itself from the asset it created, in an attempt to stay true to the decentralization movement.

“XRP is much bigger than Ripple,” the Ripple team said. “Recall that the XRP Ledger was created before the formation of Ripple and has always been and will always be an open-source project that exists independently of the company.”Further, Ripple added that “like all open-sourced, decentralized technology,” a growing community powers XRP with or without the help of the company itself.Ripple elaborated that its event hopes to celebrate the XRP-focused community. These members, the organization explains, are figures that help build liquidity, validate transactions, develop on the XRP ledger, and generally promote and adopt the platform.
While this VIP gathering is only for members on Ripple’s list of invitees, the company stated that it will give 10 tickets to members of the community through Twitter in the upcoming weeks.
